I once read somewhere that “praying is talking to God, meditation is God talking to you” regardless of your religion, I truly believe meditation offers something that all religion’s believe in, and that is: bliss, love, joy and happiness wrapped up in a bit of peace and quiet.
There is no magic Secret to meditation or rules to follow, it's just a couple of minutes out of your day, when you go within to be a witness to either, the thoughts that go in and out of your mind, or to sit in the stillness that can often settle over you. Ever notice how you will catch yourself thinking negative thoughts? Or lose yourself in thoughts? for me, it becomes exhausting when my thoughts are running me around.
I feel my best when I start my day with a gratitude list followed by meditation. My energy shifts, and I'm often filled with gratitude and stillness that last through out the day. This tends to bring more positive energy into my life. Here are a few recommendations to get started: get the OM app, you can set it at as little as five minutes to start out. Sit in a comfortable position in a quiet space, palms up ( palms up symbolize that you're open and willing to receive spiritual guidance or anything that comes up for you.) Just be there, be with yourself and eventually signs of true presence, love or peace will show itself because that is who we really are at the core of ourselves.
